About

Semper Fi Auction Service is owned by Marine Corp retiree, Rick James. After serving in the Marines, Rick went on to pursue his lifelong dream of being an auctioneer. On the day after his retirement ceremony in January 2011, Rick went on to study at auctioneer school in St. Louis. After he graduated auctioneer school, Rick began working with a couple of local auctioneers to learn the business. He went on to do property auctions in March 2011 for Marty Read Auction Service as well as for Wendt Auction Services. He later worked with Webb & Associates Auctioneers & Appraisers. Rick has worked several benefit auctions and real estate auctions. He has a sincere passion for the business that allows him to enjoy what he does. He considers it a real blessing to work on something you love and always dreamed of doing. He takes pride in being able to give 100% of his heart and soul into the business. Rick further worked with a vocal coach, got more training and attended more educational programs. In September 2012, Rick attended the NAA Benefit Auction Seminar in Denver. He also participated in the World Wide College of Auctioneering exclusive program in November 2012. Rick became an active member of Missouri, National and Kansas Auctioneers Associations and regularly attends all of their annual meetings. He now holds a Kansas Real Estate License for REMAX-Partners, Louisburg, KS. He has earned a reputation in Real Estate auctions. As for his career in the United States Marine Corps, Rick obtained the highest enlisted rank as Sergeant Major. He also served the country on combat tours in Haiti, Gulf Wars and the Iraq war. He received many medals and awards, such as the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star. He also served as a Drill Instructor for 2 years.
