The Komet King (or King Koin) is a vintage 25-cent bulk vending machine made in the United States during the 1960s and 1970s by Harby Industries and Advance Manufacturing. These nostalgic coin-op dispensers commonly sold 1-inch gumballs, small toys, or loose candy. History and Background Made by a partnership between Harby Industries and Advance Manufacturing. Produced under names like Komet, King Koin, and Komet King. Originally priced to accept a single 25-cent quarter coin to turn the dispensing knob. Design and Features Heavy metal base and body, often painted in black, hammered bronze, or bright retro colors. Clear glass or plastic globe to display gumballs or small capsule toys. Interchangeable internal wheels to switch between loose candy and 1-inch gumballs. Front flap or "thank you" chute cover over the dispensing door. Appears in good working order. A Cream City copper boiler is a vintage oval wash tub and lid manufactured by the Geuder & Paeschke company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Historical Use Laundry: Families used these large copper tubs on wood stoves to boil and clean clothes. Canning: People also used them for hot-water bath canning. Construction: They feature solid hammered copper bodies, typically lined with tin inside to prevent corrosion and water contamination. They also feature side handles and lids. #402A - Vintage Moroccan Storage Basket w/Cone Lid

This Moroccan cone shaped storage basket was inspired by the silhouette of a traditional clay tagine. Popular design from the 70's. Most of the 2pc basket is made from natural fibers like palm, grass, reeds. Vintage coated jute material (the red areas) were hand sewn onto basket. The details are made from almost the same thick vinyl like material. Some of the design has started to fade to time. The metal ring handle is in good shape. Well made, great for storing something a little tall. Fun pet toy basket! Approx 26"H x 16"W - typical age wear. Overall basket and conical shaped lid are in good shape for use, collecting. ~AZ

#403 - Appalachian Oak & Reed Buttocks Basket w/Info Card

This nearly master crafted Appalachian White Oak and Reed splints Buttocks basket was handcrafted by Janet & Bruce Cunningham of Southern Pines (respectively Janet 1949-2022 and Bruce 1920-2004) There's a small card included in basket with hand written info. Wide oak handle has a natural knot adding some character on one side. The rim band has one as well. Also made of a thick wide strip of white oak. A mix of ribs and flat oak strips woven to hold the shape. This basket is in Collector Condition! Well preserved, approx 13"H x 11.5"W - Janet was an accomplished white oak basket maker and studied under master Emory George "E.G." Brown (1954-2022) also of Southern Pines. This basket shows off her skills! We know that Janet and Bruce Cunningham separated in 1988. So the basket was made prior to March of '88. ~Az

#403A - Double Lid Tennessee Melon Buttocks Basket

This basket is so well made, I keep searching for a signature or initials. It has all the characteristics of a Tennessee white oak melon basket. Nicely braided oak splits handle over bent wood. Thick ok bentwood rim. Good amount of ribs used to help basket keep it's form. The lid flaps open individually, wire tied. The design woven on the sides is a known Tennessee pattern, though the name has slipped my mind. Interwoven lid support is a nice addition. Looks like hot glue may have been used to keep the ribs of lids together. The glue has started to gather age patina with the passing of time. Approx 11.5"H x 10"W - Excellent for collecting! Great for use for gathering eggs, herbs, etc! ~Az

This one is hand woven of grass as well. Made in the design of traditional Bee Hive Skep baskets. Even has an opening for bees, and a weave of cane blocks larger insects from crawling in! Basket has a twisted handle at top. Dome shape, a little fatter than the other one listed. Still in really good shape! Approx 7"H x 8.5"W - This hive basket was painted a sage green color. It now has some chippy paint due to age. Another good size for collectors, not too big. Great for Farmhouse displays and probably bee use as well if one added some clay or something inside. ~AZ

Hand woven wall basket called a "Comb Basket" - attached info card by basket weaver Patti Simmons. This basket has the initials "MB '93" on bottom. Possibly from Patti's store she used to own in Hickory, NC. Made of oak splits with dyed split colors woven into the design. Colors are fading to time. Notched bent wood hanging loop at top. Approx 10"H x 8"W - oval bottom has spacing for air flow. In pretty good shape! ~Az

#405A - L.Taliaferro Tenn Signed White Oak Footed Basket

Signed and dated on the bottom. Very Hard to find footed basket especially made by well known basket weaver Lonnie Talaiaferro! If you are a collector, basket lover, etc here's one to admire and own! Made by Lonnie Louis Taliaferro (1946-2006) from Rogersville, Tenn. Some might remember his story. This particular basket he made is a museum worthy basket no doubt! Round "cauldron" middle with arched bottom to form 4 separate feet (keeps basket from touching the ground) Classic Tennessee white oak splits tightly woven with large 'air flows' spaces in the bottom. Bent wood rim and handle. The rainbow shaped handle Lonnie designed is so Pretty! Nice criss cross braid pattern in the middle of handle. Basket is dated 1994. Just starting to get age patina, this one is going to be quite the treasure for someone! Approx 16.5"H x 11"W (size does not include the bulbous middle) The condition shows that this was an adored basket and took good care of it. ~Az

The color looks like natural dark wood splits on this nice medium small egg basket. Dark bent wood handle is smooth, accents the basket nicely. Large "God's Eye" pattern woven on the sides. Thick branch rim made of 4 branch cuts. Strong sturdy twig style basket is approx 14"H x 12"W - One of the accent ends tied to handle has loosened over the years, part of the character. Flat bottom basket has weave of what looks like symbols inside or maybe quivers inside and projectiles around the sides. Strong sturdy basket, well made. #408 - Bird's Nest Twig & Vine Basket - Initialed R.O

Hand crafted basket shows some age. Well made, quite a conversation piece! Collectors item for sure! Thick tree vine handle with many, very many offshoots woven together to make basket look like a Bird's Nest. Woven vine bottom and rim top are made of a different vine than most of the basket itself. No two alike that's for sure! Good aging shape, approx 12.5"H handle with the opening about 8"W, twig vines stick out much further. Basket has two black initials on inside of handle. Looks to read "R.O." - Be sure to see photos or come look for yourself. It may read RD, BO, etc. ~Az

#408A - Lg Wide Weave Wood Handled Storage Basket

Talent is the first thought I had when I seen this large double wood handle basket. The wooden handle were hand carved, hand notched to fit securely. The wide wood splits are evenly spaced giving the basket sturdy sides. Spaced weave on bottom allows for air flow, small debris to get through. Evenly spaced wrapping of split wood rims is the touch this awesome basket needed! Approx 12"H x 18"L x 15"W - Some aging is natural typical. Light use , great shape for many years of use! ~Az

Extra large floor storage woven basket has two thick bent branch carry handles. Looks like it's made from chunky grass twists and branch framing. Sides are good, bottom is missing some weave. Good for floor storage, this aging basket looks weathered. Approx 18"H (without handles) and about 17"W - Slightly misshapen from use. Looks like it was carried on the back, or side for harvesting. ~Az

Older aged hand woven vine and branch basket for the wall. Large pouch to hold items up and out of the way. Each side has a "God's Eye" pattern woven into the design. Twig and bent branch accents. Wood ribs with thick wood framing. Good and sturdy for use. Basket has a wire hanger attached. River cane ties add nice character. Approx 19"H x 14"W with a curved pocket opening about 6" . ~Az

#411 - Huge Gods Eye Twisted Wormy Vine Buttocks Basket

One of the largest I've seen! This basket is around 27"L - the "God's Eye" pattern on each side. The handle is made from twisted vines with a wormy wood appearance. Handle has been smoothed by hand. Basket is approx 18"H x 17"W and has about a 24"L opening. Woven with wood splits and ribs. Natural color is starting to age. Basket is in pretty good shape, especially for the size! An entire home garden harvest might be able to fit in there! ~Az

Both are small hand made gathering baskets. Not quite mini's, not for gathering large harvests. Good size for collecting, or for gathering small berries like dogwood berries, rose hips, etc. The dark woven buttocks baskets is made from wood splits with what looks like willow ribs. Handle is unusually wrapped. Basket is approx 5" x 5" - The reed basket has started to darken from age. Basket is approx 6.5"H x 4.5"W - Twisted reed handle, braided top rim. Both are in good shape for use if desired. ~Az

#414 - Native American River Reed & Cane Pot Belly Basket

Native American bulbous round bellied basket made of reed and rivercane. Looks like it could have been an Adirondack basket from the design. The flat bottom is raised off the ground with river cane. Top band is twisted and wrapped for strength. Great foraging basket with the high walls. Well made for use! Older basket has aging and use wear. A few minor breaks noted yet one has to search to find them, not readily noticeable. Good candidate to add straps for carrying. Approx 11"H with a 7"W opening. ~Az

#415 - Antique Adirondack Elephant Foot Foraging Basket

This Large (it's about 15.5"W at bottom) antique split wood basket has wide wood strips at the bottom, narrowing as they worked up. Reminds one of the French baskets made in the same manor, yet not certain on the shape. Large looped bent wood handle for hanging. Back has a bit of a curve, likely hung from a tree and carried on someone's back. This basket was painted a red brown color a long time ago for strengthening. The basket needs to be cleaned, as it's aged and weathered. A quick wash might remove some of the buildup. Though that's what gives this basket character. It's a unique shape, not often seen. Rectangular flat bottom has wide openings for debris to fall through while in use. It has an "Elephants Foot" shape to it. Wide and curved at bottom. Looks like it would have been ideal for carrying walnuts, pinecones, etc. Basket is approx 21"H with handle and about a 10.5"W top. Weathered, yet in great shape for continued use if desired. Nice early American collector basket! ~Az

#416 - Lg Domed Lid Bonnet Storage Basket w/Instructions

This native basket looks much older than the instructions on how to make a Bonnet basket that's included. There's several key differences noted. This Storage - Luggage basket is about 14"H with lid x 14"W - Flat squared bottom is not in the instructions, nor is the domed lid that this one has. Wide openings for debris to fall through as well as air flow are also not part of the instructions. The dyed woven wood splits have darkened over time. Many breaks noted, yet basket is still in a good antique like condition. Looks like this may have been the original, and someone got the instructions on how to replicate a Bonnet basket. Native Americans used this style for clothing, utility items, etc. Great find for collectors! ~AZ

One look and you can tell this is an Expertly hand crafted buttocks basket. Tight woven weaves of wood splits and what looks like willow or vine. The "God's Eye" pattern woven on each side. Nice bent wood handle and rim. A rainbow of color dyes used to create such an eye catching Beauty! Colors are fading to time, basket remains in Superb shape. Museum quality! Talent made this basket, no info on the weaver, but they were master level. Thick Twisted branch handle and branch rim. The "God's Eye" pattern woven into the sides. Wood splint and rib basket is quite large. Gathering basket can hold a large harvest. Approx 15"H x 17"W and about 20"L - Well made, a few breaks in the weave from age and use. The green wash style paint helped to strengthen the basket. The green looks like that 40's green color. In good shape for use or collecting. ~Az

Wood splits with cut branch rims and supports. Two wood looped hanging handles. Very much in a primitive style if not old itself. There's an aged patina look to this double oval tiered wall basket. Made much like, if not, a French wall basket. Strengthened and darkened, very sturdy. Bottom oval is about 22"L and top oval is about 15"L - Basket is approx 15.5"H with loops. In pretty good shape for use and collecting! Not often we see these long oval ones. ~Az

Incredible find of this antique Victor Victrola record player, model VV-XIV, serial number 115280E. First introduced in 1910 as a premium, upper-middle-class floor model. It originally cost $150.00—equivalent to over $5,300 today. Player features a tiger oak cabinet with upper & lower double doors with metal knobs & metal hand crapk. The upper cabinet doors open to the speaker, the lower cabinet doors open to shelf with four compartment under it to accommodate vintage albums. The top is a heavy, domed wooden lid with a rounded profile that opens upward on mechanical hinges. Also included are six albums containing a variety of musical taste. Measures approximately - 22" x 23.25" x 48". Item shows appropriate wear due to age & use with some nicks & scratches. Turntable rotated when tested. AA.
