What are you doing on April 11th? You will want to be in Stratford, SD that’s what!!! This is a fantastic sale!
Lloyd is 97 years old and is a lifelong collector of antiques, automobiles and basically anything old! Lloyd has been a tremendous asset for the community and has done a lot for the Town of Stratford. He is a retired farmer and farmer at heart and loves his family and friends.
Lloyd has always been very involved in the community and even built a small shop in Stratford for people to gather for coffee every morning. He has served the community in many fashions. He has served on Township and Town Boards, the Volunteer Fire Department and is a Charter member of and has been a member of the Warner / Stratford Lions Club for over 50 years – just to name a few! He is at every community event and until recently, you might have found him in his skidsteer hauling gravel to pothole in the street or pushing snow in the winter.
Lloyd has been slowly parting with a few of his vintage vehicles and decided it is time to sell the rest now. Many vehicles were originally bought on Barrett Jackson auctions and brought to South Dakota. All have been sitting inside – some for a while.
While all of the vehicles were in good running condition when parked, not all of them have been driven in the last year or two. A few get driven each year in the 4th of July parade, but many have been sitting for years and have old gas in them. While we can rinse the dust off the vehicles, but it may not be realistic, in this situation, to have the vehicles mechanically gone through prior to the auction. As long as our weather cooperates, we will try to have as many running as possible. We are grateful to Bernie for allowing us to rinse off and keep the vehicles inside his heated shop until day of sale. We also want to thank David, Landon and Steve for their help with this project.
Weather permitting – We intend to have 3 flatbed trailers with Tin & Cast Iron Seats, Gas Cans, Parking Meters & Collectibles!
We will start the sale at 11:00 AM with some of Lloyd’s Vintage Gas Cans, Cast Iron Seats & Collectibles. We will move on to more Cast Iron Seats, Vintage Gas Pumps and Vehicles at 11:30! Once we are finished with the Live / Online Items, we will resume with more collectible cans and seats.
