Val started Auctioneering his first sale at the age of 13 with his father Jim Luckett, Val has worked at various livestock barns in the area all his life and still works at Mitchell Livestock. Val has lived in Aurora and Jerauld Counties all his life. Val is also a bonded in buying livestock and he received his Real Estate License in 1998. Val was the 1st Peoples Choice winner at the 2007 South Dakota Auctioneers Convention. He served on the board of directors for many years and is currently is the President. Val is also involved with Duck Unlimited Chapters & State Conferences, Rocky Mountain Elks Foundation, Pheasant Forever, Ms. South Dakota Rodeo Queen, Make a Wish Foundation, and many benefits. Dawn is currently the South Dakota Auctioneers Association Executive Secretary. Val and Dawn have been in business 33 years with Val Auctioneering for 44 years. The Luckett’s live on a farm with livestock and enjoy their hunting and spending time with their family. Val and his wife Dawn have 3 sons – Twins Mace & Josh and Vance & daughter-in-law Courtney and have 5 grandchildren – Dusty, Wylie, Rowdy, Drake & Quinn.
